About Me
- Name: Julie Lewis
- Location: Vancouver/BC, Ottawa/ON, Canada
Everywhere in nature, there is a pairing of opposites; up and down, hot and cold, yin and yang. In Sanskrit, the word "hatha" combines two words: ha, which means "the breath of the sun" (prana), and tha, "the breath of the moon" (apana). In the ebb and flow of the tides, there is an inward and outward motion of the waves. Just as in breath, there is a wave-like upward motion as we inhale to take in new energy through breath and a downward motion, as we expel stale energy. Ebb and Flow Yoga seeks to integrate mind, body and breath into each class, seeking balance in the opposites of movement and stillness, tension and release. Julie has completed her 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training course at the Salt Spring Centre of Yoga, British Columbia. She is currently teaching in Vancouver and offers seasonal workshops in Ottawa.
